About The Glutamate Association

The Glutamate Association is an association of manufacturers, distributors, and users of glutamic acid and its salts, principally the flavor enhancer monosodium glutamate (MSG), for the manufacture and preparation of a very wide range of recipes, dishes and snacks. Among the Association's members are many of the largest companies involved in manufacturing and marketing food ingredients, spice and flavor blends, and prepared foods and beverages for the retail, hospitality and catered sectors.

The Glutamate Association provides factual, science-based information about glutamate and MSG, and their role and benefits in food preparation, for all with an interest in its unique umami taste. The Association works closely with leading scientists in the fields of taste perception and nutrition, and with some of the world's most innovative chefs to foster greater understanding of the umami taste, and MSG as its source in tasty, healthy cuisine.
